Lily is Washington native, with her roots in Seattle, Washington. She first heard of the Seattle Clemency Project when she took a class a the Washington State Penitentiary with incarcerated students and spoke with them about their paths to trying to obtain clemency. She believes clemency work is the most important work within the law field to try to mitigate our unjust trial system and issues with racial disparity in incarceration.
At the Seattle Clemency Project, she has been working on research for determining who and what the Clemency and Pardon's Board cites as extraordinary circumstances and thus deserving of a recommendation towards clemency. She notes and cites this data and catalogues it so that we have a better understanding of how decisions are made by the Board.
She is also a huge fan of the Seattle Sounders FC and loves going to home games!
